Suspension Advice Please

I want to fit a suspension kit on my 8v MK3. I want to go nice and low, about 60mm, but i do not want to go to the expense of coilovers. Its supposed to be a "im not modding this one, just get in and drive it". So what have you fitted and found to be ok? What about APEX or Venoms Dropshox?

in a similar situation myself. Want to get a nice drop but can't really afford to go for coilovers. I saw the Vemon dropshox in the mag. The package seems reasonable but I don't know if anyone who has tried them...any info would be cool.
