Long life servicing

Is this just for the newer golfs or not. Only reason i`m askin is because this rattlin on startup is pi55in me off now, and its only started it after givin it an oil change, as explained here.

Have you got any details of the car N/A, turbo or tdi. If you have a thin oil in a high mileage engine you might want to change to something with thicker viscosity. I had quantra in my car and found it tappity and after a few thousand miles i changed it for gtx magnatec and it reduced it. Are you sure its because of oil as could easily be starter motor, exhaust, mounts or something else.

Cheers for the reply (at last) is a 130 tdi, done 69,000and the oil that I used for the last change was Castrol edge but since the oil change it sounds like a bag o spanners on start up, which makes me think its the wrong viscosity oil
