do you have the oil temp as part of the MFA dash dials? It may it that is faulty... Will have a look in my Bentley VW golf cab manual later to see what it says...

Well there is no reference to oil buzzer in the manual, so properly best to put this query on the vwgolfmk1.org.uk club forum as its just for mk1 golf owners only.

check the wiring to the 2 oil pressure switches, the low pressure one is on the side of the head, and the high pressure one is on the oil filter housing :)

The pressure switches are colour coded, low pressure (0.25 bar) is blue and I beleive the High pressure (1.8 bar) is green.

The buzzer is linked to the high pressure switch.

Replaced my low pressure switch yesterday, dead easy to do, cost £8.

on a MK2 the low pressure is black or brown with a blue wire, and the high pressure is white with a yellow wire.  Was the same on our cabby as well, but it was an 83 so newer than most MK1s.
