Ok, to make things a little easier can we have some answers?

1 - what will the car be used for, toy/24-7/family transport etc? Usage
2 - how old are you?  Insurance
3 - is 13k the most you want to spend, or would 10-13k work better?

I only ask you these questions so I can make a decent guess at what I would want

But for that money right now, well I'd spend upto 10K on finding the BEST DC2 Integra Type R I could find.

But of the cars mentioned above, and the ones i've owned and driven i would say......  all IMO of course

CTR (o)- load of tosh!  I got rid of mine after 4 months of irritation
Leon (d)- have never really been impressed by them, the Octavia VRS (o) made more sense to me and was pretty decent.
TT (d)-   I drove both the 225 and 248 V6, no thanks
Clio 182 Cup (d) and nearly (o) - now that makes sense but don't expect rock solid build
Mini cooper S (d lots)- Great motor with works kit a little flat without it, although i think the normal cooper (d) makes better value for money sense if you can't afford a works.
Mk5 (o) - it won't be long before they drop to your price, how about waiting?
what about some old school fun?  a minter 205 1.9 Gti will cost you 3K or a decent Golf?

I might be getting rid of my Boxster S to save some money, as I've taken a new job with better hours but less money and have a short list if I were...  Number one being a 106 gti, great fun of little wedge

Thanks for the lo2w down matty boy!

Here' some more info:

I currently drive a polo (p reg), im 26 and i want somthing a bit faster/nicer, not botherd about practicality, but at the same time i dont want somthing that just drinks juice either.  im currenrly on around 22k a year so i figure getting a 10 grand loan and saving a couple of grand is about the most i can strech to, although im not sure.  Im not really intrested in a new car, i want to get the most for my money.

When do you think the gti's will come down to around 14 ish?  its good for all you owners that there prices are holding up, but not for us poor people!

Ok boss, I'll have a think on that one.........

Off the top of my head and probably completely wrong, but I think a 10K loan over three years would cost around £300 mnth.

You could buy this off my girfriend... Nice V6 - quick but not too thirsty, reliable, and great spec....

No Reason at all chap - it's just priced to sell. Recently serviced. My girlfiriend is doing more miles and needs something a bit cheaper.

It's a very good car - the pictures dont do it justice. Mail/pm me if you need more info.

What about a Skoda Fabia VRS?

Our local Skoda dealer has an '06 demo with under 1000 miles on it for £12999 incl Full leather trim, Xenon's and Cruise!

One of my lads has one, as he's only 21 and can't get insured on any fast VWs yet.

Bonus's

Cheap car
Super cheap insurance
Good residuals
Great MPG (45-50mpg average)
130 BHP
Easy to tune
Good build quality

Downsides

Badge
Quality of trim parts is not as high as a Golf but on par with Polo
