If you throw an egg at car paintwork it fractures the paint and looks terrible - even worse on metallics as it fractures below the laquer

It's going in on the 16/8 to be polished. Hopefully that'll be the end of it, but if not, its a £600 +vat job.

Well it's a very long story. I rang the lad's dad who claimed he was encouraged to do it by another teacher. It turns out that a couple of teachers and a technician knew he was going to do it but thought I'd find it funny. Brainless and totally unbelieveable. The union guy said as the staff basically encouraged a criminal act by not stopping him (malicious/criminal damage) we can't make the lad pay as it would drop everyone involved in the sh!t. So I rang his dad back (who was sound about what had happened) and he was going to 'have a word in his ear' and say no more. The other staff have agreed to pay for the £90+vat polish, but nothing else at the moment... the plot thickens. BTW not all teachers are as clueless as the ones involved. anyway, here's some of the damage... (not the round water marks!?)

The little tw4t wouldn't have a 'later life' if I had my way... I find it really difficult that a 17 year old can vandalise a three-week old car, blatantly admit it, give me attitude about it, not apologise and just get away with it. Yet if I was even to lay one finger on him I would have a criminal record, put on a child protection register and never be able to teach again.

Something's seriously wrong here...
