it depends on the judges what he or they say!

the whole speed limit system in the uk is wrong!

why cant we have authobahns like the germans or the ozzies! it all comes down to power and money!

merry christmas all! :)

erm, I wasn't aware that the austalians had autobahns?

I was there this year and they have very similar speed limits to us.
and it appeared to me that more people stuck to the limit!

the majority of roads had a 100kph limit
some up to 110kph
considering the roads were relitively empty + huge distances of travel
these limits seemed as ridiculas as ours!!

I admit tho, I was only in Queensland an New South Wales
I have heard that in the Northern Teritory they are a bit more relaxed about speeding, where it is more about horsepower and dodging gravel/rocks spewed up by the road trains!

Back to the uk - I agree the pigs are cun*$............. ;)

It is wrong - but much as I love the idea of a Germany having roads with no speed limits - they are ffing dangerous and i wouldnt want to see them here.

I was on an Autobahn earlier this year, doing 90 late at night - the speed at which M3s approach you is terrifying. I am a hardened driver but when some guy is breathing down your neck at 150, it aint funny.

As someone else said in our group - these guys are going so fast they start flashing you at least a half a mile behind you. And at 140 versus your 90 they will cover that distance in 30 seconds.

Oh, and Autobahns arent always 3 lane motorways. So even if your doing 90 you spend half your time in the fast lane passing lorries with various rep mobiles up your ar*e trying to get past regardless of your speed.

Tin

hehe Germany!

Anyone been to India?
Mitsubishi EVO's are cheap and there are no speed limits at all! ;)

I was only 15. They told me to keep about ?10 worth or rupees to pay off the feds incase i got pulled over!  :o

I loved it! ;D

Australia does have speed limits, however there are a number of very long outback roads which are desrestricted.

Apparently Porsche do much of their high speed testing on these roads.

I agree - the traffic police over here are absolute pigs the way they talk to you.

I come out of a garage after just having some rtepairs done to the car when about a few mile down I was waved into a layby by some traffic police. They were pulling in loads of drivers at random for various minor motoring offences (meanwhile local muggings and burgalary goes sky high unsolved - they dont give a sh!t about that stuff). Anyway, I got flagged over and they ask me to get out of the car - for a moment I thought I was a suspect for a local armed robbery or something? Anyway the fat one of the two points to the distance and says 'is it a clear view this evening you think'? 'Yes' I said. Still hadnt the foggiest what he was on about. Then he asks me what I was doing with my fog lights on? I apologised and explained the car had been in the garage all day - perhaps someone had been messing with the lights (this wasnt the golf at the time).

Anyway, talks to me like sh!t all through the process of checking the car over, breathlizing me and making me read number plates - then fines me ?30 for miuse of lights. This man was an absolute wayne kerr! He really was! I mean I dont use that word lightly - but if ever there was a reason to hate the traffic police and never ever help them in any enquiries for whatever reason he was it!!

My point is - the guy who lived in the flat downstairs - was violent, always drunk, smashing up the place (when he wasnt smashing up his wife), abusive to everyone. Done for nicking cars, possession of stolen goods, assault... the list was endless. Yet whenever the police came round to sort out the grief he was given everyone they would speak to him nicely, politely - wrap him up in cotton wool virtually everytime they had to nick him.

Yet I have my fog lights on by mistake and I'm Britains most wanted!!!!

I'll get of me soap box now ;)...but it does annoy me that they seem to be policing only those who accept being policed. Those who stick two fingers up to it all just seem to get ignored!

I'm off to lie down in a dark room now :).

Nighty night! ;)

spot on mate.

I got done for number plates that came with the car (thin lettering) fined ?30, when a few yards infront of me my mate gets pulled and has no insurance but they didnt do any checks on him.  :-\

Maybe time to ask Santa for a Radar Detector and a Laser Diffuser. Got mine last year and no points or bans since!

GTi PD150, Revo'd, Hasta La Vista!
