friend of mine is looking to install VW single cd player head unit into the empty slot above his radio and is looking for an installation guide, with pics if poss. I've had look around here and on the net in general and am struggling to find such a guide. any help much appreciated.

just remove the tape deck, then remove the cubby hole piece, theres a bridging piece that links the cd player to the tape deck (plug from one to another) then i think you just slot em both in together

some do have a kind of support in the middle that just clips in and out but other that thats its just plug the cd player into the tape deck and then slide them in

Off topic i know, my dad knows someone who works for VW, and he got him a free CD and fitted it for him! How lucky was that?! Incidentally, it is an easy job, take the radio out, and bridge them together... as said previously
