Security Idea?

As most golfs have problems starting sometimes due to the relays.

Why not talk the fuel pump relay out when you leave your car so no one can start it ;D

Would it work, just a thought ???

Would work, but then you only need to bridge 2 of the contacts on the relay plate to make the pump run.........so it'll only work if the would be thief doesn't know how to overcome that.

i dont think most thievs think golf are worth the risk trying to nick anyways as most are high insurance groupings and so need Thatcham security to insure anyways. Most of the Tossers (tea leaves) only break in to nick ya stereo stuff these days.   :'(

or they could just pull out 17 that's below it and put it in the pump hole and away it goes. they'd have to drive without fans, lights and wipers though ;D

if you have a cat 2 immobiliser it is very hard to by pass and the fuel relay is a good idea as the theif isnt going to mess about with an old car which there may be a problem with that the fuel pump isnt working! he will more likely think that theres a hidden immobiliser! or it could be 1 unplugged wire under the bonnet! if a car wont start and to his know how it hasnt got an immobiliser he wont mess about with it! normaly if its immobilised they walk away as they can be very complicated!

the more time he spends on the car the more chance he has of getting caught! :)
