 :angry: awight all...just put knew rims on my golf and guess what, iv got a nail slap bang in the middle of one of em...is it dangerous? should i change it? its not losing any air.

nail is embedded in the tyre,its 205/40/17.

If it's right in the middle, any tyre place should be able to repair it for about a tenner, if that.

Don't go too far with it,  like only as close as the tyre shop, Motorway blowout wouldn't be nice :(
If it's not near the sidewall it should be repairable like dubby says

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

Yeah it will be repairable alright... I only noticed a screw in my tyre tread when another one went in the side wall but I was in town at night so it wasnt too bad (As in blowout) The one in the middle of my tread musta covered some miles tho!  :shocked:

two new treds on the front on ? Monday,
Tuesday evening - avoiding a chicken chaser oncoming --BANG---  straight into the kerb and sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, looked and bits of alli rim sticking into brand new sidewall.
Forum rules disallow my sentiments at the time

They only wont repair it if its closer than 1 - 2 inches from the wall... I thought I was safe last week... got a nail in my new tyre, it looked ok to get repaired until the tyre was taken off and the bloody nail was curved and had been rubbing on the inside wall!!!
65 buck for another firestone!

got mine sorted today, cost £16...atleast it was repairable
