beware of the road conditions!
« on: 19 December 2003, 23:04 »
Today I had ?900 of Kahn RSR wheels fitted with Toyo Poxies and the first dose of understear threw me into the hedge some 4 hours later!  >:(

I was certain I'd f**ked at least one because I'd smacked the kerb. I was only doing 30-40 out of a roundabout. It went a little like this...

Out of roundabout, understear, let off, massive overstear, 180 spin, over kerb, over the kerb, into hedge.

Lucky I fell short of the trees. I jumped out after I remembered I'd left my phone down at Wez's. A 500m jog it was then. So I start running. Then who should come up behind me? The old plod. ::) (always where you don't want them to be, typical) What a time to come a long, or was it...

"Where you going mate?"
"Only down the road"
"Is that you back there?"
"yeah, I'm going to get a mate to pull me out"
"jump in we'll give you a lift"
I'm thinking something's a bit fishy here. Police are never this nice to me. Last time they gave me a producer for pulling over on the side of the road.
"If I get in, will you let me out?"
"yeah sure"

So I got a lift, got the car out. Loads of mud, but the smallest of kerbage! I thought the wheel was bent, but after we spooned all the mud off it was fine. NEeds washing, but it's off to the bodyshop in the morning so they can wash it.

How fscking lucky am I!  ;D

I know. I thought it was a bit fishy, but hey. they didn't pry into how it happened. I saw the wheel again in the bodyshop today and you probably wouldn't know it'd happened. it's just caked in mud. doors are on now. spraying them tomorrow I think along with my l33t vented wing ;D

Of course many pictures will be taken aswell as me finishing this mk3 dash.

I'm very surprised I didn't f**k ?200 of rim. it's not like there's a lot of tyre wall to take up the smack like running 14's. only got 205/40/17 rubber wrapping them.

I bet it was both the road conditions and the fact my tyres only had 60 miles on them. the little nipples were probably still on there. ohwell. Can't wait to get her back now. I went out to see it today and the new doors are on. haven't been sprayed yet, but looks good.
