Reckon i'll have any problems dropping 40mm when i put 18" wheels on ?

Providing you maintain the same rolling radius I reckon you'll be cool and the gang with a 40mm drop.  ;D

good good, xmas bonus i got in todays pay packet might just about pay for one 40 profile tyre ...... tight bastar.. *goes off grumbling*

done 40mm drop on mine with no probs but ive 17"s with 45 series tyres, no probs as mk4 arches sssoooooo big!!!! :D
