Wheres vagcom manual and instructions
« on: 19 December 2003, 11:30 »
I have just obtained the vag-com kit, ie software , lead and laptop.  It tells me what error codes i have regarding faults, and I have a printed list of fault codes from the net to explain what they refer to so i can troubleshoot these type of problems.

The question is......

Does anyone know where to get a manual, instructions etc for changing the car settings, ie turning on the autolock feature, activating cruise control. All these options are available to us all but can only be activated by these diagnostic tools.  I'm unsure what control module no to select for what part of the car, ie for autolock, and then unsure as to what code i put in to activate such features.  I've seen ref to Robert Bentley publications and Erwin but I dont wanna pay for things that wont do what i want.  VW dont offer much help.

Been through Ross-tech, but it doesnt have instructions for everything. ie a list of Control modules and the codes i need to enter to make the changes. I guess the no's next to each section within the vagcom software might refer to each control module, but when you select the option to make changes it prompts for a Channel no, dont know what they are, and what no i should put into New Value, for the different functions.
