mgp to £20???
« on: 09 July 2006, 23:26 »
ive got a AGU code golf turbo with a ram air induction kit fitted, driving reasonably steady and legally im only getting around 115miles to £20, surely this cant be right? would a forge re-circ and a AMD re-map help raise economy.
ive had it on diagnostics and nothing was reported, and no im not driving with air con on either

im starting to think a log burner would have been better......

Am i right in thinking thats 26mpg? What sort of driving was it town or motorway. If its town/b roads it isnt that bad. Im pretty sure that the maf can be dodgey without throwing fault codes up.

That is about 26 mpg.  But what type of driving was it?

If I drive steady, I get about 35 mpg, or if I drive quickly get about 11-12 mpg!!!

I'd say that 25 mpg is about what I get with a mixture of the 2 driving styles on A/B roads.

Has anybody had a look at the exhaust, as leaks will play havoc with MPG?

Also, the lambda too (although this should throw up a FC in theory??).

i think its due to the air filter, its got a long duct pipe and the wastegate chatter resonates really loudly, its my first turbo so and still in the "let everyone hear the wastgate" buzz. spooling the turbo up for nothing aint gonna help MPG :smug:

all motorway miles mate @ 70, £45 for a full tank and I can get  600 miles on that, its called economical driving and keping the car well maintained. so if i half that to £22.50, 300 miles just drove to work now with an average well in the high 50's:smug:

edit: drive to work in a mix of A/B roads and motorway

Yeah anywhere between 80-110 miles on 20 notes.  (dependent on the weight of my right foot and where I'm driving)
