25th anniversary alloys

Hi guys

I'm after a bit of advice really, I have a 25th anniversary and have been having the usual problems with 'milkyness' under the lacquer of my rims. They have already been replaced once and are going to be again in 2 weeks. My dealer has now said that they will be replacing them with a different alloy as VW now no longer fits them due to the milkyness under the lacquer. Has this happened to anyone else? I have read the posts from may 2006 regarding shot blasting, which now is another option to me, but most importantly what do the new '25th anniversary' rims look like??? as my dealer didn't have a clue

They are the same wheel mate, just not polished

ok cheers mate, saves me thinking about getting the old ones shot blasted. Not bad on the dealers part really replacing wheels on a car that is a year out or warranty!!

They have had so many complaints/problems with these wheels tho

yeah its a shame really they are nice rims but this will be the third set i've had in 3 years

Unfortunately, they'll come back in a more 'run of the mill' silver colour.

Apparently, peeps have had the same problems with these ones too, though!!!

You might as well, though, seeing as it's free???

Probably why the new mk5 anni just has black monzas, such a shame as some bbs alloys would make it look the part.

You would think with the money BBS alloys cost they would have a better finish  :rolleyes:.

Its because they are polished and laquered so they need to be looked after properly. As probably 90% of anni owners dont look after them then they get fooked.  They are a nightmare tho
