Changning my mind (not losing it yet)
« on: 04 July 2006, 11:57 »
Morning all,

So a few weeks ago I ordered my Golf GTi DSG with the options:
Leather
Winter Pack (got used to heated seats in an old car)
Multi function steering wheel

However having lurked here for a bit I'd like to add in:
Xenon headlights
Sunroof
Parking sensors
Highline computer (although I think you get this with the steering wheel option)

I'm sourcing the car through my company car policy people as a business purchase and they are saying the car is in production and the options can't be changed, is this correct, I would've thought that this early on there was still *some* wiggle room ?

Hi,

Multifunction computer is certainly worth the money - esp as it is only 45 quid or thereabouts. Rear parking sensors can be dealer fitted - check with them...

B0LL0CKS that is - I changed my spec about 3 times - the cars take 3 months to get here but dont seem to be built untill the last week then are delivered straight away!

I see no reason other than some jobsworth can't be assed to do some paperwork!!!!!

We ordered ours with the leather pack and got the heated seats as part of the package?

Spoke to the dealer and she did a very good impression of trying to change the spec but couldn't which is a complete arse, on the bright side the initial delivery time I was given was wrong and the car is in build on the 17th so should get it early August and not early September as I was originally informed....

oh well, next car I get, I add all the options right from the start....

i'd be inclined to ring back and speak to someone else mate.  at the end of the day you are parting with a large amount of money and you should expect to get the spec you want!!

or pop down and speak to them face to face.

it may put back your delivery date but at least you'll get the car you REALLY WANT

If your in no rush, then tell them you don't want it until september and maybe you'll get a fresh order?

But I'd have to just take it

told them I was going to cancel the order, all is better now, although waiting for an update on the delivery date, it looks like I'll be (mostly) getting the spec I want....  ;-)
