Strange Noise....

Ok I have what can only be described as a 'flapping' type sound coming from the offside of my car.. Noticed it today when I had the window down, The 'flapping'  increases with road speed.. Mmm to describe the sound..well it's somewhat like when as kids you peg a playing card to your bike forks so it flaps in the spokes to make it sound like a motorbike (or was I alone in this craze?  ) It's not as loud as that mind, a lot! fainter than that but it's a similar sort of sound...

Any ideas anyone...?

hmm, try jacking it up and spinning the wheels by hand? might give you a better indication of where its coming from. either that or get a mate to hang out the window

Anyway found out what it is, not a happy chappy to say the least having just spent £86 for a new tyre today (t'other was only 1 1/2 month old) because of a screw embedded in it which was too close to the sidewall to be repaired..Anyway turns out that I have yet another screw embedded in a tire only this time in the front!! Thankfully this one is in the middle of the tyre so hopefully this should be able to be repaired... They say it comes in three's... so what's next...?

tell me about it. theres a building site near work and i've got slow punctures in both front tyres from screws/nails.

Yeah that's how i'm picking mine up you see as I work on a site, so some num-nuts is obviously dropping them either that or some scrote is laying up against my tyres.
