Fitting angel eyes
« on: 26 June 2006, 10:53 »
Just got myself a pair of angel eyes and fitted then fine(ish). I connected the two clips together so the lights work fine. The sidelights, dip and full beam all work. But, I did not connect the wires attached to the lights to the other wires that were connected to my original headlights. I assume these are for the buzzer and beam adjustment. I am a wireing virgin and did not want to attempt it blind . If anyone could explain what to do I would be very happy. CHEERS

If you got spare wires on the new Angels then the above comment is correct mate!

You have obvioisly bought some that have multi fit applications.

Why do ya wanna make yer car look like a BMW anyway?

If it's anything like the angel eyes I had (InPro from euro car parts) the two spare wires coming from the new headlights were for indicators...

Ill try to explain as best I can. There are six "spare" wires, 3red, 3black and also a clip with three wires that went on my original lights. You can see that the spare wires go the the actual angel eyes so they shoul light the actual ring. When I turn my side lights on just the side light comes on and no rings. When the headlights come on dipped one ring is lit, then on full beam the other is lit and the other goes off. The spare wires must be used for lighting the rings and a small led at the top of the light. If anyone had to connect similar wires when they installed their lights, pleaese tell me where to connect them to. PLEASE !!!!!!

I think with mine i attached them to the sidelights so as soon as any lights come on the rings light up. Don quote me, i was a passive participant when mine went in, i held them in place once or twice and oooh'd and aah'd a bit lol!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Ok, when I unpluged my original lights thre were two sets of wires to unclip. The set on the outer side of the lights is not connected to anything anymore. And the 6 loose wires connected to the angel eyes are not connected to anything. These loose wires look as if they power the actual "angel eyes" but dont know where to wire them to. I assume they wire to the spare set of wires. If this is the case will it just be a matter of cutting the connection on the spare wires off and tyring to connect them?

do you have electric beam adjustment on your standard lights? If so, that's at least 2 of the standard wires accounted for. Are the wires coming from the angel eyes different in colour? i.e are there obvious positives and earths?
