Midline computer... I feel like a poor relation with it! The manual gives you a real sense of 'look what you could have won...'
The guy I bought my nav from on ebay specialises in OEM nav. The unit looked as new, with chrome look buttons, VW code card and genuine vw version 3 nav disk. I watched him remove the instrument cluster and fit the GPS aerial behind it. He said the aerial can 'see' through plastic and glass but not metal. I really wanted the the fin antenna on the roof, but he said removing the roof lining was a real pain, not sure what they cost either.
The DVD version seems the bollox, it uses the ABS sensors on the rear wheels to help it maitain accuracy, and the disc holds all of Europe, unlike the CD which is just one country. It also has points of interest and split sceen too. The guy's based in Leicester.
My Golf has the changer in the armrest, it just plugs straight in... on the menu it has a 'AUX' button, not sure if you can connect an ipod as well?
