genuine gaskets are sex i know thats sad but compared to gsf etc they are well nice.....

Vwspares rubber ones a freakin lush then
mind you the original sump had no gasket and I fitted new sump and gasket with new bolts thought it would be a mare but it was a piece of wee!!

The bolts right next to the gearbox where a pain in the arse. Before any of you point out the removable plate, it couldn't be done on my engine!

yup, found that out when we had undone a load of bolts
Those two bolts where a proper thingy to remove and get back in....

Later MK3s have allen/star bolts, might be an idea to get some if you ever need to do the job again

Cheers man, i have no plans to take the sump off again in the near future....we did have to force the two bolts in . . . .they may have slightly crossed threaded them, got them to bite though which is all good
