Easy just undo about 10 bolts and the supm drops off, but make sure you drain the sump first

I have often wondered this, so that all there is too it.

Surely must be more difficult, what is a worse case scenario as I always seem to get when I do anything to my cars  :embarassed:

I think the worst case scenario would be Cross-threading the bolts :undecided:

gonna head down to VW tomorrow and place a big order......

How about getting 9 of the 10 bolts out and then that last one rounds off/head snaps etc...  That's what always happens to me!!

i changed my gasket once and the 2 bolts near to the box are a right pain in the a$$ and i was soooo close to threading them but  luckily i didnt, the gasket still leaked after that which was quite frustrating!!!. so there can be probs mate when taking the sump off be warned

Make sure all the nuts and bolts are clean before touching them and don't use cheap tools
