WINDOW REGULATOR CLIPS

As you are all aware the clips for the windows are a right pain (mine failed as i rolled off the Chunnel en route to Le Mans last Thursday!) but i have some good news!

if you car is under 6 years old and the clips fail VW will pay the FULL COST to replace them.  It used to be 50% but after checking they confirm that they now pay the full cost! 

so get breaking people and get them repaired for free before its too late!!

PS - apologies if your car is over 6 years old and you've had to foot the bill yourself

When yours "failed" did the windows drop completely? The reason I'm asking is because my passenger side has gone tight to shut and I think the clip might be slightly cracked and not fully broken. I was hoping they might change mine

got lucky and it was 'stuck' about an inch from the top!! rather lucky as i had another 250 miles or so to cover to get to Le Mans - all i heard was a crack and then the window stopped.  the rear clip failed and the front one pushed the window and jammed it.

stripped the door card the following day, pushed the window up tight and then gaffa taped all around.  got me home at least 

unfortunately most people's windows tend to drop right down

got about 18 months to *cough* replace the other ones

also bear in mind that the clips or some part has to physically break as the stealers send back the broken parts back to VW to show its a genuine claim. 

they won't replace them until they break........obviously another cost cutting exercise

is this happening all across the vw dealeship, does it actually say on there site coz i cant find it also whats the best to way to scank em coz mine is 02 and i wanna make sue i get the metal ones in
