Right im going to buy a mk3 golf TDI with the 90hp engine...  What i need help with is what tuning routes to do.

I am going to buy a "tunit" box which will increase the engine to 110hp and 174lbs/ft torque so this will be quite a difference to the standard motor, it will pull pretty strong. I want a little more power and torque.. i was hoping to get figures similar or above the fabia VRS which is 130hp with 220lbs/ft of torque... I have read that fitting larger injectors will increase my power and torque with the pulg in tuning box to around this sort of power figure.. Does anybody know exactly what injectors i will need and where i can buy them. Also does anybody know of any other methods of increasing the power a little. I have heard of these engines being tuned to 190hp but i would like something around the 150hp mark with bags of torque.. so if anyone knows anything about these engines and any good tuning methods i would be extremely grateful if you could share some knowledge. I will be carrying out most of the modifications out myself unless i end up in the realms of larger turbos or internal engine tuning.

why not by a pd engined mk4 if you want to go that far !!
I have bought a 'piggy-back' box from hhtuning.com. Panel k&n filter & back box. The power increase is substantial but 'adequate'. Not sure of the bhp, around 110/115 i guess.
Remember the TDI is the first generation of performance diesels and at least 9 years old now. It's obviouly not got the newer technology of the mk4 and has a lot more miles because of the age !

just found a company that can send me the nozzles that i need, powerplus 520 injectors, have to get them shipped from the us though... they say they put the engine at 110hp without the chip so with the chip and the nozzles i should be happily running around that fabia VRS figure. I'm just comparing it to that cause my father used to own one and it was pretty rapid. Does anyone know of any other routes though for 150hp+ performance or do you think with an older engine i should leave it at the 130hp+ mark
