alright chap. yes i did get in touch with that fella and he sent some pics. didn't like it much. never mind eh. looks like i'll be biking to work a week monday through the lanes, cash flow and all that. if i end up buying a gti without pas then would i be able to convert it do you reckon? hope your well, see you soon

im all cool rudy cheers hows you and family?its not what id call easy as it might take some time getting the old one out is hard work!ive got a pas steering rack with pipes and resi and pump!i think its easyier to lift the engine up as far as the gear box :wink: :grin: will allow it to and then pull it out.keep your eyes open on here and other sites including ebay and we'll get you one soon enough!

 :cool:alright fella. found one! it's an 8v on a j plate. cam belt has slipped, turns over but doesn't fire so i think it could be (possibly) ok. booked in at coggins a week on monday to do the pully kit & belt & timing & pressure test. so, you never know, i might get a gti for about £200. nice one! although if it is f***ed i've been offered a mk3 lump for £300. a  1.9 too. family is good thanks m8. speak soon

booked it in???? are you mad?i could have done all that for ya!oh well!where did it come from? if they put the engine in its gonna cost you a fortune dude it will then become a £1000 gti???give me a shout il come and have a look at it.if it turns over it could still have lots of problems?? :undecided:

alright dude. i put a post on mk2 section and had a couple of replies which say go for it!! i'm supposed to be getting it today at about 1.30pm. are you available for towing at that time? and do you have a spare battery? and do you think you would be able to do the work? i'll pay you of course. have you still got my number? or have you still got the same number so i can speak to you?
