hi, sorry to ask such a stupid question :embarassed: but i'm getting different answer about it. what oil do i put in my 2.0 gti 8v agg engine, is it semi or fully synthetic oil?

i've seen different answers myself. ask vw/check ya haynes or whatever i guess.

vw told me to use their gold syntha stuff in my valver.. and its fully synthetic i believe
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

I would recommend synta gold, which is fully synthetic.

Synta Gold is fine, but can be a bit thin, especially for higher mileage engines.  I used to use it in my my VR (95k on the clock), but switched to Synta Silver when it started to drink a bit.  Now use it in my GTi too.  It's only around £12 for 5 litres at GSF!!

cos gold is too thin really. silver isn't so works better on most cars.
