Right i know petrol topics are always popping up on here but there is something puzzling me.

Sorry guys!

Right i've seen on here and been told that it is advised to run a 16v mk 2 Golf on 98/99 octane petrol. I'm lucky enough to have a Tesco round here that does 99 octane fuel. Now i've been running my Golf on this for ages and was impressed but it didn't last long before the tank was empty! The other day though i had to fill up at Texaco with 95 octane petrol and i was suprised that A) the car run better, B) it had more girth (power) C) £20 lasted 152 miles! A lot longer than 99 octane would.
Any ideas guys? Or have you all fallen asleep
