GOLF MK3 - Common Problems & Solutions
« on: 12 December 2003, 11:24 »
Having read loads of posts about problems isnt itabout time we had a Common Problems and Solutions Thread, that is stuck at the top of the threads. Saves having to discuss the same old things.

Or do we have one of these already?! ???

Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

We need someone to create a database, then all of the information has to be logged into it. once this is done everybody can search the database against selected criteria (gearbox etc...). Will take a bit of time, but will be very usefull. I'm no expert in this, but i think it would be done in microsoft access.

Well i would have thought the moderators can make it a sticky topic and it just stays at the top of the threads list. It can then be added to as and when. No links. just a plain old thread that dont move.

These are the common ones:

Stalling
Rough Idle and Drive
Throttle Bodies
ABS Sensors
Rust
Electrics
Cambelts

Any more?

might be an idea to do it all for all mk's then break it down into engine, chassis, electrics, body & styling?

put a thread in the bright ideas forum
