when the car is idlling and you rev it why does it take so long for the revs to come down , its like they are falling in slow motion? any ideas how mto fix this?

Mine only does that when its hot and I have been ragging it!
Might be worth checking the breather pipes?

it does this even when cold just after start up..seems ok when driving though!

there is a 'fast idle' that keeps the revs up for a little bit when u blip throttle

I think this is the isv doing its job? I think if the revs fall too quickly you get jerky on/off throttle responce. This is what I'm getting on my MK2 GTI atm and I suspect its the ISV causing it!
