What's this oil from??

Just a quick question for all you who know their way around an engine......

What is this part?? and where is the oil coming from??





does anyone know, before i start panicking!!

a bit of history...... the car has felt a bit "sluggish " for quite a while....(no fault codes) but i thought it was just me being used to the car, but after driving in my mates car i definately cant feel the turbo "kick" anymore???!!!

i know its only a 110 (and a remap is on the cards) but im sure when i first had it i could feel a bit of a kick from the turbo!!

ive looked at the EGR valve cleaning, and im wondering it may have something to do with that??!!

any help appreciated

get it fault code checked.

jet wash the oil off and then see where it comes from. looks like normal gunky build up to me

a new MAF sorted mine out and now you can feel the turbo kick

yeah, i thought about the maf, common problem, but its quite new and doesnt have that feel to it???"!!!

power is still all there but no turbo??

it has been vag comed and no fault codes with the engine (only alarm...previous thread)

  its got me !!

  hahaha, tried that aswell..... didnt work  i changed everything...oil + filter..air filter.. fuel filter.. pollen filter ... glow plugs

a bad feeling says the turbo has had it (a while ago).... have these cars got a wastegate/dump valve/diverter valve ( or whatever they are called these days  ) because these are prone to having problems on petrol cars??

if it was the turbo, surely it would come up as a fault??

i might have it tuned to check the timing etc??

looks like the oil breather to me. got a better pic showing more of the engine.

the breather takes the oil vapour that's in the air inside the engine and puts it back into the intake to follow regulations. This then gets burnt off with the fuel, but isn't as efficient as the fuel and air mix it commonly runs on. could be different with diesel...

I'd remove as much as you can without going mental and clean out the throttle body and parts a like.

im not an engine man bud.... i can have a go at most other stuff, but i dont really touch the engine side of things. its my daily runner so if i did f@@k things up id be stuffed for work (well the missus would be..hahaha)

i'll have a go at cleaning it all up, and i might attempt the egr valve cleaning aswel...see if that sorts anything out !
