Air Bag Warning Light Reset

Hi all

Anybody know someone who can reset my airbag warning light on the cheap in the midlands, near coventry.

Dont have a lap-top and not wanting to go down route of humphing pc into the garage and buying vag-com interface, cheap as it seams on ebay.

Had the fronts seats out, then ignition on, then fronts seats back in.  Now i've got a warnings light.  Does the ECU remember safety warnings, is no front seat airbags, and refuses to clear them when i put em back ???

Tried disconnecting battery for about an hour without luck.

Bags are still in place.

Any suggestions much appreciated

not entirely sure when i used to hav my saxo(ssshhhh) the airbag light was on after getting the seat cover sorted, all it was, was the airbag sensor plug just needs to be cliped together exactly in the right place, hav u checked all the wires again might be worth a second look
good luck 8)

Its all better now very shiny, but now the windows have gone again! and shocks are squeaking like mice!!aarrgghhh

I have the same problem with my car, in that i removed the car stereo connected up the back speakers and then I noticed the airbag light on.  the dealer reset it under warranty but it was back on within 24hrs.  They tell me that there must be a cut wire somewhere but dont when that might have happened.  They've also informed me that the ECU stores info regarding crashes, which my car has been in. I reckon he's using it as an excuse to say he doesnt know what the problem is. They want me to book the car in for a day to find the fault.
Yeh like i'm made of money.

I'm getting the vagcom stuff tomorrow, because i need a key reprogramming, my dashboard lights flicker occassionally and the temp sensor drops to zero and back up again intermittently, so i'll see what that shows regarding the airbag light and stuff and the details regarding the crash.  I'll hopefully be able to figure out how to remove your light for a Xmas drink.

I'm based in Walsall, West Mids.
