I'm running with Michelins on the Porsche and Conti's on the VW.........  The VW will run with Michelin Pilot sports or Pirelli P-Zeros once they need replacing....  the life on the Pirrelis is pretty short though........

I went off the michies coz they seem to wear out at the edge after a short mileage and look worn out even though there not

What is it that you don't like about the conti's - I loved 'em on my GTi but prior to that I  wouldn't have wiped my A+S+S on them - Same as the dunlop Max's really!

If you know what I mean......

I'll send a picture L8r re the MPS2's

Let me think...................  Nope, nothing wrong with the Conti's on the Gti

I know what you mean about the mich sports, but i've been really impressed with them on both the Box and A3....  I've had P zeros on 2 motors and they were great but V soft.....

Once the misses has her hands back on the Golf they'll probably last 3 years

Guys -

Because your tyres are expensive, it doesn't mean they're good.  I have fitted a full set of Yokohama C-Drives to my GTI, after the OEM Dunlops.

I found the Dunlops were fairly average in the dry, and lacked grip in the wet - lots of understeer.

In comparison, the C-Drives have far far more grip in the wet, and are so much tackier in the dry.  Much less wheelspin when you pull away quikly.  Tyre life on the front has been about the same as the Dunlops (7500 mi) - they're ready to change again.  Price per tyre (Express Tyres, Lockerbie) was about 70 quid each.

Isn't tire life of 7500 a bit on the low side. I've just changed my front Conti's for first time after 17,500 , rear still has plenty wear left
