Doc, can you help?
« on: 01 June 2006, 08:37 »
I removed the top air vent from my dash as you showed on your how to guide to fitting the bluetooth handsfree kit because it was vibrating and buzzing at over 90mph on the motorways. So i took it apart and put a little grease around it and sure enough it stopped the buzzing. The problem is the small panel that fits around the wheel that contols the airflow doesn't seem to have gone back properly. The right hand side won't click down firmly no matter how much pressure i put on it so i can lift it out easily if i put a finger nail under it. I can't remember if it was like this before i took it out or not. I've checked that none of the plastic clips have snapped that hold everything in place but for some reason it doesn't seem right. Can you help?

OK the small bit at the front should be very easy to put back into place - send me a photo of it from the bottom so I can see all of the retaining clips and a photo of the "hole" that it clicks into please and I will do my best - dont worry it will be soething daft

You could try removing the whole top again and replacing it as something minor may be in the wrong place.

Glad your having a go!

Where do you live?

Cheers

I took it apart and noticed that i've managed to break a couple of the plastic clips. So back to the main dealer to get a new part!
Still it's cheaper than it looks. Only 23 quid apparently.
I live in London near Charlton.
Thanks for your help.
