how bright are the normal halogen beams? and how well would they light the road up especially down country roads with no lamp posts?
also can you purchase brighter halogen bulbs for these standard lamps woth a blue hue to them?
I can understand Matt and Doc raving about them, but we didn't go for them, falling into the "fook me, that's a lot of dosh for some brighter lights!" camp
- maybe if my job involved night time deliveries I'd have thought it essential, but as is, you are right you should be able to buy some better ordinary bulbs to increase your lighting power for considerably less than £725 - ok, they won't be as good, but you can still make significant improvements for about £30.
And having just returned from a 3 week trip round Europe in the Golf, we managed just fine without.
