Movie cockup - The Fast and The Furious
« on: 10 December 2003, 01:01 »
At the beginning of the first race when it starts the camera goes down Dom's arm, though the gearbox, into the head showing 4 cylinder's firing, round the turbo and out the exhaust.

Does anyone else think that's a bit weird seeing as Dom's driving a RX-7?

I know, I know, It's just a film, la la la. ;D

Glad i am not alone!

I can't help but point these things out! My girlfriend hates it, calls me a geek! I explain someone this into cars especially Golfs is no where near a geek but so overflowing with manlyness that i go off the scale!!!

I cause embaresment for her and our friends at the cinema! I am only allowd to attend car movies with my cynical GTI buddies!

he he he...

Always amuses me how they drop one gear and find an extra 500bhp. And how Nitrox lasts 10 minutes and has no detrimental affect on the smoothly ticking over engine at the end of the race!!! God bless Hollywood!

Maybe they should make a film about Golfs... No, on second thoughts, it could be disasterous! ???

just replayed it in slo-mo on the dvd (off work sick today, so a bit bored  :-\ ) .. definitely a rotary engine, no pistons in sight, maybe they realised the ballsup and changed it for the dvd release ?

I beat the 200 lbs of neons and other crap they have stuck to those "race machines" really make them go faster as well. I love the draw bridge scene in the second though. Pretty much any jap car (most others as well) would have snapped the frame with a flat landing from that height and speed. Pretty much the dukes of hazard of the 21st century. :)

Dual nitrous kits for when you REALLY want to cock up that incrediably over priced Japanese engine. :) Have to laught though. I was in motorspares a couple of days ago and there is now a line of fast and furious merchandise. LED tire stem caps, stick on neon lights, neon wiper jets etc. I need to start my own business. :) While on the topic of crap movies. anyone seen Biker boys with Samual L Jackson? It pained me to see him in that rubbish. Pretty much a 2f2f on motorbikes. :)

The cars in TF&TF can carry it off in the over-hyped and overweight American cruise scene, with all the sun and all the glitz. But on the Back streets of Birmingham, they look like the total tits they really are!! And to cap it all, they often try modding up the poorer cousins anyway - Sure, an RX7 with 100 grand of tuning is going to do the business, but to carry it off on a 300 quid nova, with a MacDonalds wage packet is just going to make you look pretty dumb.
I suppose we all need a good laugh from day to day though!
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture
