i've got a color concept and i'm after more power. test drove the 1.8t mk4 and wasnt too impressed. i wanna mk3 but which one. i've heard the diesel are really torquey. it would like a vr6 but wanna see if theres anything else out there

hows the 16v in comparison to the vr6?

The Mk3 Tdi engines are ok, and you can get more power out of them by remapping the ECU, but I don't think they're quite as good as the Mk4 Tdi.

The Mk3 16v engine is good, 150bhp, not too much less than the VR6 lump, and it's lighter too.

yep, vr6 has 26 bhp more (?) but weighs a fair bit more too so doesn't quite handle as well.

Dont buy a standard Mk3 diesel if you want torque mate! I think mine's lost her's somewhere!
