HI IM NEW TO THE SITE AND I KNOW ZERO ABOUT CARS

MY GOLF GTI 1994 KEEPS DYING ON ME WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR LIGHTS OR ROUNDABOUTS. THE REVS GENTLY DROP TO 0 AND DIES OR SUDDENLY DECIDES TO KICK BACK IN. IT ALWAYS RESTARTS STRAIGHT AWAY. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MORNINGS ON THE WAY TO WORK, AFTER THAT ITS RANDOM.HAVE READ SO MUCH ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS BUT SO MUCH INFO I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START. ANY SUGGESTIONS? FED UP WITH RISKING MY LIFE DAILY. :cry:

yea i think its a common trait of mark 3's, I am sure someone can advise you on it.

hi, yea had a look through the mk3 section, lots of good advice, just wondering where to start first, short of money, need to try and pinpoint it, if possible.

Welcome to the forum.  :smiley:

If you want exact answers then it's probably best to post a thread with this problem in the mk3 section and someone may be able to tell you what to look for starting with the cheapest first. But from the problems I read it does come back to being relays, sensors or ECU problems more often than not.  :undecided:

Throttle body housing is clogged up with crap.  Easy enough to fix yourself or 30mins to pay main stealer.
