I just wanted to thank all the people on the forum for, it is with their great advice.  That I have made my choice.  I have ordered my new GTI MK5.  I will be the proud owner of a brand new spanking Golf GTI once it comes in Sep (So long to wait). :undecided:

This is my first VW ever, I drive an alfa 147 and a merc e class right  now.  Test drove the gti and loved it. So much smoother the the alfa and the exhaust sounds nice.
I will include pics once I do pick it up.  Dammed waiting list.

18” Monza alloys
DVD Sat Nav

Thanks Homer, yes indeed it sucks.

Also quick question to ant other GTI owners mk5 has anyone got the phone prep and what does it look like?

Thanks again everyone.

p.s why would you want a 147?  the gti is so much smoother to drive even on bigger wheels.

Sorry, forget to say I am buying the GTi tax free through VW company sales.  I reckon I save a bit over UK Tax paid, hence i went for the fully loaded GTi.
