is this a normal idle for a 16v?

My 16v idles about 1300rpm.

It has had the head gasflowed and the inlet manifold ported, the exhaust cam mod and has a 4 branch.

The idle does seem quite high though, is this normal?

normal is between 900-1000

There is an idle screw, just below the throttle cable, try winding it in to get the idle down.

Actually just found out what's wrong. There's a little black square thing stuck on where the throttle body is, it had come off. plugged it back it and it's back to 1000 rpm. Hopefully start doing decent mpg now in traffic LOL!

Get your C0 set to 2% asumming it's a mk2 16V - any garage that does MOT's will do this for you for a tenner!

Something to do with setting the idle, however if refitting that black connector has sorted it then i wouldn't worry about it.

Oh, one other thing, the car has had the twin exhaust cam mod. I've heard something about needing a warm up regulator mod or something.

What's this and how can I tell if it's been done?

if someone has went to the bother of fitting a modded exhaust cam inplace of the inlet cam then id reckon they've had the warm up regulator adjusted also

you can check by looking at the back of the WUR and see does the brass cap have a hole drilled in it.
