rear washer

another one of those piddly jobs to sort out..

the water heading to my rear washer jet doesn't quite make it all the way to the rear window..  for some strange reason there is washer fluid dribbling down my o/s/r mudflap when i squirt

i haven't had been able to see where it's coming from without getting right in under the car - any ideas peoples??

Check in the boot, on the right hand side, there is a bit where the pipe from the engine bay joins onto the pipe that goes to the boot. This often pops apart, and leaks. Push it in as far as you can, and it should be fine. Dont wash your screen when the jet is frozen, as this often makes it pop off again.

If its not that, then i dont know....

i take it this will be under the boot carpet somewhere then??

yeah it will lift it up in the boot and u will see it. if my memory serves me correctly it is a clear/white coloured rigid type pipe. although i may be getting muddled with the central locking mechanism pipes lol so dont quote me on that

Yeah, it is l ike a clear/creamy pipe in mine at least! I thought central locking was blue, or is that just the solenoid?! Anyway, it will be at the right hand side of the boot, right behind the light cluster, not under the carpet. Though in the GTi i think it may be behind a bit of trim, not sure on that though. In mine, it isnt behind anything, though i tucked it behind the trim panel to the right of the car, which will just pop off if needed...

my central locking pipes are red. all of them to all doors. i would have thought they would have been colour coded lol but as a run out model they obviously ran out of colour coded pipe. its like my wires all seem to be brown as well lol

job done lads!!  a little surprised at the apparent wolfsburg "bodge" there..
