Has anyone fitted heated recaro interior into a 1999 mk4 golf? If so is the wiring in the car and just needs tracing or is it a seperate harness?

Sorry can't help on this, but I was wondering if anyone has attempted to drive for any length of time with their seat heater set to 5? It gets bloody hot eventually  :o

no idea!! id say  vw has out that into the loom as it was an option on the early cars!! not sure though will have as nosey at mine and see if any extra wire there i know ive got the air bags in the seats but any other wiring i dont know

yes the seats do get hot on 5. but my mate asked a very sensible question, on my car the seat settings seem to have no graduation, ie hot is 5 but 1234 do not seem to eally seem any different to each other, this is the same on my mates 2vturbo with the heated leather ones.

anyone else notice this

Mmm, theres plenty of cold mornings to play with this on, I stick mine on 5 just after i turn the ignition on and then after a while I am very warm, eventually its uncomfortably warm and I stick it down to 2.. I never really tested any other settings.. I'll have a go

Agree with Antgti about the lack of graduation. Leaving it on 5 for too long could cause an attack of the Chalfonts! Beginning to think settings 1-4 don't actually work.

I've being doing a lot of 6AM starts and using the heated seats a lot.. The variable settings do work.. I tend to stick it on 5 till I'm warmed up then put it down to 2 for a while but eventually your warm enough and I turn it off.. No matter how cold it is outside, if I'm doing a decent journey I never wear a jumper or coat in the car, I let the cars heat keep me warm.. Maybe if you wear any more layers the heat from the seats gets amplified a bit too much? Graduation definately works anyway!
