Sunroof trim/seals
« on: 21 May 2006, 23:49 »
Hi

Im looking for a Sunroof seal, the one that runs round the outside of the sunroof that fits flush with the rest of the body. Mines broken down loads, know who does then, main dealer or Eurocar parts, GFS?

Cheers

Knobby.

Knobby,

I got one of these for my restoration from GPC in Luton.....I'm sure it was about £35.  Main dealer should still be able to get them too but maybe more expensive!

Hi Mate

Thanks for the info. Have you fitted it yet? Easy enough job?

Cheers

I can see your point Dizzie but there's no guarantee one from the breakers will be any better than the one thats on there now, I was looking for a few bits for mine but couldn't find any that were like mine let alone better

No worries Knobby :)

It was pretty easy to fit although a little fiddly at the 'back'......just take your time and it is one of the more straightforward jobs!

I notice the above link for the seal on Ebay; I have bought a few items from the seller and they are all OE VW parts....but I am sure you can pick them up from dealers or GPC still.....price is about the same though (but maybe a tenner more by the time you include postage).

For a seal Id recommend getting a new part just because it is false economy if the one from a scrappy etc isn't in great condition either.
