i would be tempted to go for the Merc E190 2.5 16 Cosworth with a manual gear box.

I looked at the merc's too mate. Very nice but some are like 3.2's
Audi's are VAG. Too much VAG in my life. i need a break

I do like that black cab as its pillarless. thats about it tbh

Save some money get an E30 318iS? I had one of these, certainly what I'd describe as the gti equivilant... rev happy, nice and light...

or further along the 325 sport? and further from than the motorsport cab!
