Allo again people, my baby 16v had a shagged clutch and last week i decided to replace it with a VW genuing LUK clutch, all went well and while i was at it i removed the spare speedo drive gear that was stuck in the box, easy when the box is out and on its side.
Anyway after a few hours of screwing the new clutch was fitted along with a new cable to try and remove the stiffness of the historical heavy pedal.
Got it running sweet with a few tweaks up until today, i noticed the clutch pedal sticking when fully depressed, thought linkages at pedal maybe dry, eventually the car broke down at a set of traffic lights with the pedal fully stuck and the starter motor pinion engaged onto the fly wheel.
Tried rerouting the cable and this helped a bit but the clutch was still sticky, drove home with great difficulty and tried the pedal again, when fully depressed it seems to stick at the box, i think the cantilever arm for the release bearing at the box is sticking but can't understand why? Anyone any ideas?
Thoughts for tomorrow is to get the starter fixed Solution Easy, Put the old cable on Easy, Find out why the clutch is sticking when depressed, under investigation?
If anyone has any ideas would be appreciated other than pull the feckin box back out again
Cheers
Micky
