clifford & central locking

Hi,

just bought a 16V and need a cat1 alarm and quick, so have decided on concept 300, any thougts in this alarm good bad, anything better for less money?

Also i've noticed my central locking doesnt work from the passenger door when i lock/unlock although i can unlock/lock the passenger door from the drivers door, is this normal?

passenger lock seems normal.

Concept 300 is a good alarm because I have one on a car.

If you have electric windows why not the concept 500?
Rolls the windows up but a press of a button

i'd love a concept 500 but i'm a tight bugger  

so i'm presuming the alarm works the central locking aswell?

I've also noticed that i have to twist the key fully to unlock the door, rather than just a quick flick, is this normal?

Concept 500 for ?375 from a Clifford alarm fitter (behind work hours job) if ya know wat i mean

I had a concept 500 on my old car it cost ?400 and went off every night for months so i was always taking it back to be adjusted. IT never made my insurance cheaper, which was nice.

Centrasl locking is pneumatic operated. It is controled by the actuator in the drivers door. When you lock the drivers door you should hear the pump in the boot run for about 2 seconds. to make the central locking work with my alarm I had to install an electric lock selinoid in the drivers door to actuate the lock through the alarm.  The central locking in these cars only works from the drivers door also. when you lock the drivers door with the key it locks the passenger door (s) the boot lid and the fuel filler door.

Do you really need a Thatcham category 1 ? I had a Laserline Thatcham category 2  immobiliser fitted to my old 16v. It reduced my insurance (with Eagle Star) by a substantial amount. regards, yt.

You dont need a cat 1 with most insurers, a cat 2 immobiliser is normally fine. these can be supplied n fitted ofr approx ?80 - 150 depending on the type installed.

Thanks for all the advice, the reason for the alarm , is i'm fitting a sound system aswell that i dont want nicked, so thought i may aswell do the clifford, protect the car and the contents

how much is the concept 300. been lookin for an alarm and ssaw it as well but i cant find a price (maybe i missed it )
