How do I get a flip key for a MK2 golf?

I have had a look on ebay and there are blank keys on there. are these the ones I can use? then just go get it cut with a copy of my key.

I've seen those mk2 flip keys on egay too   the one I was watching went for £50 though     its a key???

Have you got a link to the one you're looking at, it needs to be one made specifically for the mk2 - you can't just get a mk4 blank cut

they are just the ones for the mk4, so dont think will work them....... maybe i could just make one with some cereal boxes, elastic band and some double sided sticky tape.   making sure i have an adult around when cutting the card.

its easy enough to do.

get a copy of your current key done
get a flip key from egay or whereever
remove the existing key or blank from the fob.  you need to hold it in a certain position so you can see a pin
use something small and pointy to remove the pin
file you copy key to the same shape
use a file to put a small groove as per the MKIV key
pop key in, push pin in job done

have a look at Dizzie's project page for his blue MK2 20V and look at about page 8-9, should be a pic of two
