Take a look at these babys I fitted to my better halfs car.......

and here is the optional audio / visual display unit mounted in the headlining so you can see it in your rear view mirror - the numbers are reversed so you can see em the correct way in ya rear view mirror!

I think they are neater than my factory fit ones and were fitted by yours truly!

Excellent work Doc! Those little sensors are quite flush actually! I think it looks like the "Steelmate PTS" variety you have there?

Hey Doc! On your recomendation, I picked up the same kit from Halfords for £200 which includes installation and have my fitting booked for 10 June. I noticed that you have your sensors on the bumper lower down.

I suggested to the fitter today whether he would put them there too and he said it is a bit too low and may not pick up higher obstacles so he's going to fix them up higher in line with the number plate, which means they will require colour coding too.

Any adverse effect of having your sensors down there?

Also, fitter said he may have to take the bumper off, did you have to do this?

Cheers!

Zeb

Hey Zeb

Thats great but I never recomended getting halfords fo fit anything....... the point of the guides is to help you guys fit your own gear instead of some no-brainer looser with a saxo 1.4!

Here we go.........  OK so what if their to hi and cant pick up stuff thats lower? Plus the snsors can be angled slightly upwards with the newest kits. The sensors work fine there and they perfectly match the black lower section of the bumper! Why paint them when you need to??????

Nope I normally fit these to vans - lots of them and there lower still!

Also, fitter said he may have to take the bumper off, did you have to do this?

Nope I left it in place and pulled the wires up by the removing the rear lights his can be done if you fit them on the upper or lower of the bumper.

At the end of the day the kits cost around £100 so why not DIY it my man? At the end of the day you will be far more carefull than any halfords fitter.....

Sorry if I sound negative but I dont want your car messing up - where do you live? If you want to come over I will fit them for you (FOC) and we can take photos of the fitting for the forum!

Cheers
