Nadlad, you only need the security torx bit if your only taking the maf sensor itself off but the pic your showing on ebay it comes already in the plastic hose thing so its just a matter of unscrewing a jublee clip, two screws on the airbox and replace the whole thing, no need for special torx bits.

sorry u have totally lost me, u saying i dont need the blastic bitjust the housing in the middle of it where is clips on, i checked on the top of that there were two security torx screws which i have to take off to get it out in any case right?

the maf is two parts the sensor itself and the plastic housing. The housing is the plastic cylinder that is between the hose leading to the air box and throttle body. The sensor itself can be withdrawn from the housing by unpluging the connector and undoing the two security torx screws.

by the way i rang my local vdub specialist he said it mite be to do with either brake switch or summot or the MAF also is another sympton of this that i can hear lieka whirring noise as i drive at 70-80 once it gets up there, something just dont seem right besides the loss of power... also i found its ok after a rest , but i noticed it goes flat again after about 10miles from rest, is this the symptoms, whirring and being intermittant, cheers guys.

Hey mate, before ya start messin about wit it too much, check the easy s^#t first, i lost all boost bar 3psi. i checked all my boost hoses and found the one from the intake and BOV was cracked. replaced and am runnin 18PSI again no issues, its best to check easy stuff before messin about.
