Enjoying the fine weather this afternoon i decided to wash the 16v, as i was cleaning the wheels i noticed these brown type stains on the near side front brake disc, tryed rubbing them off with my finger but were dry. Also noticed two drips on the inside of the arch, which were wet to touch...looked like oil from somewhere.... also recently noticed a faint "shwwr" noise when drivng almost like an airy sound. Anyone got any ideas?...also will those stains damage/affect my breaks?

Have you checked the hoses and drive shaft joints to see if there all intact? The noise could be a split hose or exhaust leak. Some proper brake cleaner should sort the discs out about £5 from halfords.

Cheers lads....also ABS light keeps coming on and going off, iv seen other threads saying that you should clean the sensors...what i wanna no is what should i use to clean the sensors?...and are the sensors in front or behind the discs? thanks for all info so far!!!

They are behind the disks .  If you know someone with a code reader get the code read, its will be logged as intermittent . [i.e. if the light isnt on then it will still report it ]

Don't bother with a code reader, use a multimeter set on resistance, if any sensor is faulty you won't get a reading.

Not in london anymore, moved to birmingham...but cheers anyway...had this problem when i brought the car before,cost me 100squid to get it sorted...£49.95 sensor, £35 codes read and rest in labour..wanna try cleanin it before i go down that route again....so what should i use to clean the sensor ???

Dry brown stains? You sure its not a rust patch? has your car been standing a while?
A deep pitted rust patch will take a while to grind away.

You will probably find then that you won't get a constant reading on the multimeter or a different reading to the other sensors  :rolleyes:
