When trying to accelerate in 3rd/4th/5th i get massive flatspots about 4.5k revs, like the car is hitting rev limiter, but its not... Any ideas? its an ARZ engine code.

Thats a 1.8t right? If so could be multiple things possibly maf, plugs, or them module lead things that come off the spark plugs. Check in the common fault thread at the top.

I am too having a similar issue, but the rev counter drops slightly then all of a sudden its like the turbo kicks in and the car is off......was told it could be clutch slipping, but no sure.

I would go for plugs or coil packs
