Guys

Wondered if any of you could help out.  I had a few friends round to pull my 2.0 engine to pieces and now we've come back to fitting it all back together I'm not sure which way round the pistons go

Does the raised bit go to the inlet or exhaust?

Looked in haynes with no help at all!!! please help it's getting late and wanted to get them in before bed.

Cheers

Ian

I didn't mean inlet/exhaust.  It's a 8v they're both on same side.  Front or back?

Cheers

Yeah marked which pot they sat in, just didn't mark which direction.  Noticed the little arrow but wasn't sure which way it should have pointed.

Cheers mate will get it built up today after work.

New rings, main bearings, con rod bearings fitted, pistons and crank back in.  Water pump on order and next weekend I will be ordering all the seals I need to complete the bottom end.

Gotta fit my spare clutch and flywheel and all seals then I'll fill the oil and make sure I turn the crank over by hand every day or so to ensure it doesn't dry up/seize until I can get the head/inlet and gearbox off of mine, painted up and re-fitted on the arrival of a new cam and vernier pulley

Just on hold again now as my coilovers arrived this morning

Will take some pictures of the block as it stands tonight and post them up to my project page.

Cheers

Ian
