my own opinion as a painter i wouldnt recomend areosols , although some people get by with them . it sounds like a pretty simple job by what your saying and wouldnt cost you much if you took it to the right place , 3 hours max , if anyone tells you different theyre full of it ,
get rid of any loose laquer with an airline or plastic scraper
flatten out the laquer edges , chances are you will rub through the colour coat and depending on how many previous paint layers there is , a coat of primer around the area is best to seal it up , reducing the risk of any reactions with old paint edges , primer is the only areosol id ever use .
scotchbrite ( like a very fine brillo pad ) the rest of the panel . to give key for laquer
blow in the colour round the affected area
and laquer the whole panel
ive never had good experiences with areosols and if you like your car an its in good nick its worth getn done right.
if i was doin this for a mate - 60quid
garage will charge anything from 80 to 100+
ask around your mates , chances are someone will have a mate in the trade
if you do go for the areosol method only scotchbrite or p2000 wet n dry to just out side the area where your gona bring the laquer to then after youv laquered use an areosol fade out thinner ( the only other areosol i use

) and dust round the edge of where youv laquered , it does what it says on the tin , it will look a bit funny until its completely dry and and youv buffed up the fade out with some g3 grade compound
maybe a bit of an info overload for you mate but im at a bit of a loose end just now

hopes this helps anyway
